Career path

Working with children can be very rewarding - you can help to make a positive difference to their lives; your energy and enthusiasm can make you a great role model to them as they develop their own creative, physical and social skills.

There are a variety of places you can work with children including crèches, nurseries, pre-schools, early year’s settings and morning or after school clubs.

You may also consider working in a youth and community setting or specialising in work with children and young people with special needs.

NVQ Level 2 Certificate Children and Young People's Workforce:

The Level 2 Apprenticeship will enable you to work competently, safely and effectively with children, in a supervised role.

As you will be learning whilst working, it will help prepare you to work with different professionals and volunteers and help you understand the importance and value of providing a service for children and their families.
